Small Diamond-Set Stones

Polishing the blade with a whetstone removes any particles and burrs left by the file after sharpening.
The aim is to smooth out any imperfections on the edge that prevent the blade from cutting properly.
Choose the hardness of the stone according to your intended use.
- The red stone helps to smooth out nicks on the edge caused by a stone. Please note that the 200 grit stone is so coarse that it can scratch the base.
- The Blue stone is known as the ‘all-purpose’ stone.
- The black stone is very fine; it is the final stone used to achieve a precise, smooth finish.
Place your equipment on its edge and secure it with the clamps.
Position the bindings facing you.
Wear gloves and place the stone on the edge, sole-side down.
Pull it towards you, applying gentle pressure.
Run the stone along the entire length of the edge.
Then place the stone on the square and position the whole assembly on its edge.
Make 4 or 5 passes along the entire length.
For a good finish, run the rubber over the edge of the edge, from the tip to the heel, for 5 cm.
Your edges are ready!
