A brush with long, fine bristles. This brush is the ‘most aggressive’ in the VOLA brush range. It is used to clean the base before waxing, revealing the base structure thanks to its fine bristles. Cleaning can be followed by hot scraping using the R021 or Glide Cleaner.

Once you’ve scraped your sole, you need to brush it to bring out the texture.
As with scraping, always brush from the tip towards the tail.
Never brush against the direction of glide.
To begin with, use a nylon brush to polish the base.
Give it five strokes.
Then, finish with a horsehair brush to give the base a shine.
Give it 5 strokes.
Your equipment is ready!
VOLA offers rotary brushes made from nylon, bronze, horsehair, fine steel and cork (the latter being designed for applying powders). The use of rotary brushes offers greater productivity and efficiency compared to manual brushes.
Note on the use of rotary brushes
- Rotary brushes are fitted onto a shaft with a hexagonal shank that fits most electric or hand-held drills and screwdrivers.
- The rotation speed can vary between 800 and 1,500 rpm and must not exceed 1,500 rpm.
- Apply light pressure.
- Brush from the tip towards the tail. The direction of rotation should be such that the wax particles are directed towards the tail of the ski.
- Wear gloves and safety goggles.
- Once the roughing-out has been completed using the rotary brushes, it is important always to finish preparing the base with manual brushing, which produces a much higher-quality finish.
